Mylord Carthago was a finalist in Fontainebleau as a four-, five- and six-year-old and qualified as a seven-year-old for the World Championship of Young Jumping Horses in Lanaken. In 2008 he started a brilliant international show jumping career with his rider Penelope Leprevorst. Under Penelope Leprevost, Mylord Carthago achieves very good rankings in the Grand Prix, but also at the World Championship 2010 in Kentucky with team silver and at the European Championship 2011 again silver with the team. They also took part in the Olympic Championships in London 2012.
Sire Carthago (Capitol I x Calando) has performed at top level for years. Under Jos Lansink he participated twice in the Olympic Games and won team bronze during the European Championships 1999.
Mother of Mylord Carthago is the phenomenal broodmare Fragance de Chalus of Joris den Brabander, sired by the legendary stallion Jalisco B who is also the sire of Quidam de Revel, Quito de Baussy and Papillon Rouge. The mother produced no less than 6 offspring who were active at the 1.60 level, as well as many international horses. The best known are: of course Mylord Carthago, Bamako de Muze and Norton d'Eole.
